Full disclosure, we are not insurance adjusters and will never attempt to act like one. This is important for you to understand. Roofing contractors cannot represent you and provide the same service they are trying to get you paid for by the insurance company. It would be like your desk adjuster or public adjuster working your claim then doing the work needed on your home themself. It's a conflict of interest. However, your roofing company can and should help provide you and your insurance company with the needed information to establish legitimate damage and all costs associated with restoring your home to it's previous condition using materials of like kind and quality. Your roofer can even meet your adjuster at your home or business to better establish a working relationship with the insurance company and to help ensure that all damages have been documented and included in your insurance estimate. Your roofer can submit supplemental damage reports when requested by either you or your insurance company. Your roofer may even be asked to perform good faith repairability tests to ensure that a full replacement is actually needed. But something that is often done in this industry that needs to be addressed is roofing and construction professionals are waiving or offering to waive insurance deductibles. By Texas law, you must pay your insurance deductible before work begins. Failure to do so is a violation of law that can affect not only the roofing company you hire, but also you the home owner or business owner. You should fully expect any reliable, trustworthy roofing contractor would follow the law regardless of the reasons they feel compelled not to do so.
